Gala Banquet by the Armenian National Committee of America Western Region

On October 20, the Gala Banquet organized by the Armenian National Committee of America Western Region was held in Los Angeles, which aimed to sum up the annual activity of the organization.
Varuzhan Nersesyan, Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the Republic of Armenia to the United States of America, highlighted the steps aimed at the implementation of the Committee’s mission. The Ambassador particularly emphasized ANCA’s activity in advocating for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, noting that the consequences of Turkey’s policy of denialism are apparent to these days.
Ambassador Nersesyan underscored the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s historical visit to Los Angeles last month, noting that the meetings, documents signed and the business forum held during the visit elevated and institutionalized Armenia-California relations to a qualitatively new level. The Ambassador emphasized that Prime Minister’s speech at the Grand Park in the presence of American officials, tens of thousands of people in a way gave a new impetus to Armenia Diaspora unity, which is a part of Panarmenianism idea articulated at the Renaissance square of Stepanakert and later at Grand Park, Los Angeles. In this context Ambassador praised the ANCA Western region active role in the formation of Pan Armenian Council of Western USA.
Touching upon the Committee’s activity in various fields and its achievements, Ambassador Nersesyan expressed his confidence that the Armenian National Committee of America Western region will continue its mission with the same vigor and determination.
At the end of his speech Ambassador Nersesyan congratulated Kathryn Barger, Supervisor of Los Angeles County’s 5th District, for receiving ANCA’s “Woman of the Year” award.
